How to change URL to get rid of /blog/
-
Hi,
Our current website is of the form https://www.sitename.com/blog/
We would like to change it to https://www.sitename.com, which I understand means shifting the files etc to the root directory and have read through the following https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Moving_WordPress, but my question is this:
is there a way to ensure that all links that include the /blog/ will be redirected once the /blog/ has been removed?
e.g.
can a link to https://www.sitename.com/blog/football automatically be redirected to https://www.sitename.com/football ?If anyone is aware of a developer who would be willing to offer their services in this matter (for a price) then please let me know also. It’s probably fairly basic stuff, but still beyond our limited knowledge.
Many thanks in advance,
Dave
