How to change websites from one domain to another?

  • Hi,

    I have a question regarding transfering websites from one domain to another, just to clear my doubts.
    I have the domain https://embotitsportella.com/ and since I made it for customer, he wants to add a word to it, which is “carns”. So I figured the most comfortable way to do this is by making a subdomain called carns.embotitsportella.com which I haven’t edited yet. My concern is if there’s an easy way to transfer everything my the first domain to the new one or if this practice is even recommended and I should just create everything on the new subdomain.

    I look forward for any recommendations

    Thank you for the info, very helpful.

    So, in order for me to do this, I would need to install WP to the new subdomain also, correct?
    That way I can have it directed at a server, add a robots.txt and add the Google webmaster tools. Is this not just doing the same again?

    I’ve been checking the codex and see,s the best posible way is the Edit wp-config.php. But I still have doubts whether or not the other website, the new subdomain, should also have installed wordpress or not.

    Any other observations?
