How to change yarpp thumbnail size on mobile phones?

  • Hi, I’ve been using your plugin for 1,5 years and I like it a lot. However, I always wondered, how to change yarpp thumbnails size on mobile phones? Because at least on my website related posts look like this on mobile phone (iPhone 6):

    As you can see, there is a lot of extra space on the right and it doesn’t look good.

    By the way, I have a recent posts plugin that shows posts in sidebar (on mobile phones these sidebar posts are shown under the content, as you know). And I think these recent posts thumbnails look perfect on mobile phones:

    I guess, they are adjusted to each device’s size?

    So, my question is: is there any way how to make the same yarpp thumbails size for mobile phones as in screenshot above? If not, then is there any way how to hide yarpp thumbnails from mobile phones?

    Hi @giorgos93 thanks for the detailed description of the issue and comparison with what other plugins’ are doing.
    Yes YARPP’s default template isn’t very well-suited to small devices. The default thumbnail image size is very small and it doesn’t automatically adjust to small screens very well. Improving these default templates is one of our main upcoming jobs because you’re not the only one who’s noticed this deficiency.
    Right now you could fix the issue by just adjusting your site’s CSS to make YARPP thumbnails take up the full screen width when it’s a small screen, and by switching YARPP’s default thumbnail size to something bigger (FAQ on how to do this).
    If we get started on this soon, we’ll ping you here and see if you’d like to give the new default template a try so you can give us feedback. But for now, I’m afraid you’d need to figure out some CSS yourself. Sorry we don’t yet have a great solution for you.
