• I installed Limit Login Attempt on 4 wordpress sites today. 3 are working fine but 1 seems to have some sort of glitch. The one not working is set up the same as 2 of the others that are working.

When I go to the blog in question and I’m NOT logged in to wordpress I can click on any three links on the page but when I click a fourth time I get a blank page that says “error”. If I wait 20 minutes I can again see the blog but the same process happens. I’ve tried on an iPhone and on a MacBook and have had someone in a different state try for me, they get the same results.

When I click on the IP addresses from the locked out email notifications they are showing a block of my IP address as well as my tester in the other state.

Neither of us are trying to login to the page when this happens, just clicking on links to view other posts.

I uninstalled the plugin but even with it uninstalled the cycle is continuing and I get locked out on every 4th click.

I also did a backup restore from prior to the plugin being installed and it hasn’t helped.

How do I completely remove anything related to this plugin so I can start over?

    Thanks!

  • this is exactly what I am experiencing and I cant figure out how to completely remove limit login and start over

To remove any plugin or deactivate it you’ll need to rename the plugin’s folder from wp-content/plugins/SOME-PLUGIN-NAME to something else e.g. add letters, numbers etc.

Is there a fix to this yet? If you rename the plugin folder you get an error.

    Hye,

I am facing same issue tried re-installing and it took log from somewhere and I am still stuck.
