    I installed WP with their Zacky Installer.
    Did nothing with WP except installed.

    Later decided I did not need WP and uploaded my own files directly.

    I deleted all WP-related files off the server, from within their File Manager.
    I also deleted the database associated with WP, from within MySQL Databases.

    The site is now live with my non-WP related files. But when I’m on FB and I make a post with a link to the site, the clickable FB link preview that’s generated contains the following text:

    [My site name and description] | Just another WordPress site
    Hello World! Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start writing! Author [my name] Posted on [date when I installed WP] Comment on Hello World!

    It’s still pulling WP information from somewhere? Where and how?? And how do I make it stop?

    Still don’t know where Facebook was pulling the text snippet from… (The link had never before been shared on Facebook)

    But what helped was:

    add
    <meta name=”description” content=”description text”>
    in the <head> of index.html
    re-upload
    then run the link through the FB object debugger
    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/
    (fetch new scrape information)
