    Hello Support,

The web stories have been set up on my blog for two days now.

I understand how I can connect analytics to web stories, but analytics does not have a universal tag to obtain tracking IDs. Web stories asks me to add the tracking ID in settings, which is no longer the case with Google Analytics.

    Guide me through this.

  • @yourjayanth Hello there! Thank you for opening this topic. Currently, Web Stories supports using Universal Analytics (GA3) for tracking.

We’ll be updating the plugin settings accordingly to support the transition to GA4. For now, we recommend setting up and using GA3 until it sunsets on July 1, 2023.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

    That’s the catch.

Google no longer allows you to create GA3 property. Therefore, technically, I can’t use GA3 anymore.

Any other ways to pull this ?

To add: I have an exisiting GA 3 property that I use to track page views for articles on my website. So, can I use GA3’s tracking code for Web stories or do I have to create a separate property?

@yourjayanth Creating a new property for Web Stories is not necessary. Web Stories uses the same site URL, so you can apply the same property ID.

@yourjayanth We’ll mark this topic as resolved, but feel free to open a new support topic should you have any further questions. Thanks.
