How to create a 2 column list?

My list is quite long and I would prefer it to be in 2 columns instead of 1 giant long column which looks bad and decreases user experience. Is there any way to do this? I tried to add a 2 column shortcode and then put a list shortcode inside each one but that didn’t work.
