How to create a dedicated filter page in wordpress?

Hi

I am creating a school listing website where i would be classifying schools based on States , Clities & Courses . So that when a user selects the relevant course in a particular city or state then only the required amount of information must show up .So can someone please guide me how to create such filter.

Are there any plugins available in wordpress repository or any paid plugin available . If not guide me to a tutorial or documentation site for this purpose
