How to create a full-width page?

  • I created “course-page.php” and “header-course.php” template files in a minimize child theme by copying page.php and header.php. Then I removed the code that builds the side bar. The side bar disappeared, but content is still constrained to about 2/3 the page width.

    Any suggestion how I can remove the restraints?

    I also tried choosing the layout options on the theme options page. This did not seem to have any effect on any of the page types. Could this be due to the fact that I am using a child theme?

    Since the update I have had the same problem under theme options the globe layout seems to over ride the individual page settings

    Hi All,

    Here’s is the order of precedence for our content layout options. If you have a Page Template selected for an individual page, this will trump all other layout options. Otherwise, Minimize will check to see if you have a Page Content Layout setting and apply that. The Global Content Layout will be applied if there is no Page Template selected and there is no Page Content Layout setting selected. Lastly if no other layout settings have been applied, the default layout will be shown.

    To achieve 100% width, you’ll want to apply a CSS class of full-width-content to the <article class="content"> element in your custom templates.

    I had a question on this as well. I would like my side borders on my posts to be larger so that the text in my post takes up less room (side to side) and instead, extends farther down the page.

    Can you help with this??
