    Hi,

I have a reader interested in writing a guest post for my blog, but I want to have full control of the format and content of the articles in my blog, therefore I don’t want to just create a contributor profile and let that person write the article there and then later maybe changing something without me being aware of that.

My goal is to just create a profile, with that person’s information (Instagram, Twitter, etc details) and post the article under that profile. That way I would give full credit to that person, but at the same time I would have full control on how the article looks like.

Is it possible to create just profiles on wordpress, without having to insert a email or login?

    Thank you

You certainly don’t have to use the intended poster’s real email or give them the password to the account. ??

That’s true, but when I tried that, the invitation made me create a WP account, and not one on my blog. Is there a way that I don’t have to create “fake” WP accounts? Or maybe I did something wrong?

I don’t understand. What do you mean by “a WP account” vs. “one on my blog”?

The invitation I get it points to the WP.com website, so that I have to create an account there. I would like to create a local account, just on my blog’s database. For example, once I tried to create the account I got a warning that that user already exists, though I am sure I have no user with that username on my blog’s DB.

Is there a way to create only a local account, without having to create a WP.com profile?

Do you have Jetpack installed and, if so, have you enabled the single sign on option?

    That was it! It worked!

I disabled that option, I created the user, and then I enabled that option again.

    Thank you!
