How to create an advanced search options?

    Hi.

    i have a problem with the WPSearch plugin in that it doesn’t let me filter by author. i want to be able to search all posts by a particular author only… but when i put /?s=SEARCHTERM&author=AUTHORID in the url querystring nothing happens.. it just searches for my searchterm without filtering by author. this kind of querystring works in the normal default wordpress search but, in every other respect i really like the WPSearch plugin, and so don’t want to have to change!

    Any ideas on what’s going wrong?

    I stumbled on this thread hoping someone had the same question about custom post_types being able to be filtered and lo and behold someone did. However I’m currently using version 2.0.2.5 and it’s still not working so I’m stumped. Did anyone get this to work with post_types or categories?
