    What others have done in this scenario which I liked, was to create new galleries with nothing else but simple titles:
    “Gallery 1”
    “Gallery 2”
    “Gallery 3”
    etc..

    Just make sure that the gallery id matches the number you’ve given the gallery title. Nothing is lost, you’ll just need to make up for your old galleries.

    thanks. will the images need to be reattached, captions re-entered? I’m hoping that they won’t…

    answering here because Disqus is driving me batty
    Thanks, I tested this. The naming Gallery 1, Gallery 2 etc. DOES tie the Gallery to the old style gallery ID. I was afraid I’d have to reupload/caption etc., but seems like I won’t have to.This is a great step in enabling Users to be able to add their slides, esp the reordering feature!

    Yep! No reloading at all, just some quick gallery creations and you’re good to go.

    PS – Disqus drives me batty too, but for the most part it does it’s job well
