How to create lots of sites, without having to download plugins each set-up?

  • Hi everyone,

    I really want to be able to create multiple WordPress sites, but I don’t want to have to download all the plugins over and over again each time I create a site.

    I am wondering if there is anyway to make my own cusomized WordPress download that automatically downloads all of the plugins I want (and maybe even lets me preset other options) or if there is a plugin that will install the plugins I want.

  • This is one of the functions of Multisite; plugins are installed once, and shared by all sites in the Multisite installation. This avoids not just the multiple downloading at installation time, but also the headache of maintaining them independently in future.

    And you can use another plugin, like https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/yd-wpmu-sitewide-options/ to preset those plugins ??

    If you’re installing a bunch of single sites, build your own zip. take one of your empty installs, zip it all up after you install the plugins you want.
