• I’m making a blog where people in my fishing club (about 800 members) can submit fishing spots on a large map on the main page. I need a plugin that can help with this. Just need a large map on the main page, I think that’s called a “mashup”. Then I need some way for people to submit the locations, that can be approved by admin first. I need functionality of custom map markers, and the users to be able to submit pictures with their spots on the map. It would be helpful to be able to sort the markers into different categories for each different type of fish.

I don’t have coding experience so I’m a bit uneducated.

I’ve tried just about every combination of plugins out there. Geo Mashup, Mappress, MapMarkers, WP Google maps, Leaflet Markers, etc etc. I’ve paid over $150 for all of those plugins and none of them have the ability for users to submit their own markers. Only admin on the backend can do it.

This just will not work for me, I have way too many to submit. Not only that but if I don’t know the exact location, I can’t add it. They need to be able to click on a map and put the marker right exactly on the lake where the spot is.

I’ve found that the only solution is to use an extremly old version of the Geo Mashup plugin, along with the TDO Mini Forms plugin (which has been discontinued) and it works, somewhat. It doesn’t look good and has very limited functionality, and is buggy. Simply will not work for my purpose.

If anyone has any ideas, I would be much obliged.

So far my idea for a workaround is that I could put a separate static map they can click on and get GPS coordinates, I can then have them send me the GPS coordinates and I can add the marker manually, though this method is obviously not ideal. They can send me info about the fishing spot via a submission plugin like the TDO Mini Forms or the User Submitted Posts plugin. I could put a separate box for them to enter the coordinates and I can put the marker in myself on the backend.

And I can’t even figure out how to do that!

If anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated!
