How to create more Category options?

Hi guys, when i create a post i have to choose a category in wordpress, but what if i would like to post in more categories than just one? I will explain this better: a music site has categories like pop, rock, metal, etc. so these categories are the genres for each interpreter. Now what if i want to sort my music by studio, year or any other aspect? So i need another Categories column when when posting not just that default one by wordpress. Is this possible to do with a plugin or any other way? Thanks
