How to create “next page” breaks in a “text” plugin

    We are a monthly print publication that posts past issues (actually an embedded link from Issuu) on our website (WordPress with a Solo Stream-created theme).

    As I keep adding back issues each month, the list is getting longer and longer (and the page is slower and slower to load).

    How I can put a “Next Page” break in the “text” plugin after the first 6-8 issues?
    I have tried typing <!—nextpage> where I want the break, but nothing happens.

    If you go to Dashboard > Settings > Reading then under ‘Blog posts to show’ you can set the number of posts to show and the pagination should work accordingly.

    As well if you want to reduce the length of your posts (to display on your homepage), try using <!–more–> at the end of your first sentence or paragraph within your posts,to get a ‘continue reading’ link. Just a suggestion ??

    Great idea, Adeline, and I was excited to try it.

    However, the “text” widget seems to work differently than the “posts” widget… which means even though I have 10 set as my limit on posts before going to the next page, this setting has no effect on the “text” widget.

    However, you’ve given me the idea to search for a “post” widget I can use on my right side column where I can enter the embedded code for past issues.

    Any other ideas?
