    Hello All,

I am working on a website that sells Gem Stones. The Default weight units are available in the WooCommerce. I want to show Gemstone weight in Ratti – Indian weight unit and carat – western weight unit.

Each stone is unique and weight could be anything and can not be changed to the nearest round figure as stone weight is also a major factor in the stone price.

Now I want to create these two attributes in the WooCommerce, 1) Ratti and 2) carat. During the product entry, I will enter these two values along with the default weight in grams.

Can someone please suggest how to create these attributes in WooCommerce? Do I need some third party plugin for these fields? Please suggest.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    Niraj

  • Hello @nirajnagar,

Thanks for the excellent description of what you’re wanting to create. You might look at adding in extra product fields for these instead of using attributes for them. There is a tutorial on this site that can walk you through setting those up.

You could also use custom product attributes instead of global ones. That would allow you to enter in whatever value you’d like for each product.
