    Hi Folks,

How to define keywords wisely when the content of a given page is pulled from a shortcode? In such cases the text area in page editor in almost empty and only has the shortcode reference in there…

    Hello @dsl225

Thank you for contacting the support.

By default, the Rank Math plugin does not decode/parse the Shortcodes when analyzing the content to keep the plugin lightweight and fast.

If you want to analyze the content, then you can use our Content Analysis API:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/content-analysis-api/

The Shortcodes can only be decoded via PHP, so you will have to create a Rest endpoint or you’ll have to use AJAX to get the decoded Shortcode content from PHP.

If that is too much to do, we would recommend not worrying much about the content analysis made by the plugin.

Please stay advised that the content analysis is just guidelines and one does not need to follow them religiously.

At the end of the day, the content needs to be written for the readers and not for the search engines.

Scoring higher points in Rank Math’s tests won’t guarantee higher rankings.

Hope that helps. If you have any further question(s), please let us know.
