Hi guys, imagine that i am a total novice about wordpress security and decide to install Wordfence because is one of the best security plugins.

Imagine that my default security level is 2, as it is suggested.

How can I decide when i have to change my security level from level 2 to 3 for example? Does the plugin change itself if traffic or something dangerous is inminent? I need to see the live traffic and decide for myself?

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards.

  • Changing the security level is a user decision only, from my experience. So you would be reasonable in setting it to level 2 for normal circumstances, and then manually increasing the level (temporarily) if you find the site under serious attack through the live traffic feedback, or more general media reports of a widespread attack on WordPress sites (such as the DDoS reported back in March).

Hi Barnez, this is what i would supposed.

    Thanks for your answer.

    Regards.

You could also check out the cool map over at wordfence.com which shows real time attacks. Mark usually updates the main page if something major is going on world wide and you can use that information to help you decide to raise it or not.
