• Two of the categories in my shop list the same products.
One of the categories holds a full listing of every product, and each of those has many variable, defined by size.

I want to populate another category with “my preferred” products which are simply individual sizes of those products already defined.

How can I create these new product listings, showing only one variable of an existing product?

Why do it this way? To have a single point of inventory control.

  • One way is to click the “Duplicate” link beneath a product when viewing the list of products. That makes a complete copy. Then you’d delete unwanted variations in that product. So it’d still be a variable product with one variation, unless you edit it to be a simple product — which might defeat the whole purpose of this method.

If that’s not effective for you then you’ll need some custom code built to handle it exactly the way you envision it.

    Thanks “Ignite.”
I use duplicate a lot. Yet for this, I wanted to manage inventory for one product in one place, not for both in two places.

I appreciate the suggestion and may use it as a last resort. Thanks.
