I saw everyone’s post over years and this issue; however, there is No Delete button that I can see connected to the Theme.

There is a delete in plugins but not Themes.

Just started w/wp, where is the version to be more helpful.

    Thanks!

  • Hover over the theme and click “Theme Details” to get to the “Delete” link.

Yes, but I don’t see any Delete link.

    Here’s all it shows
Customise Widgets Menues Premium Upgrade/ Theme Settings / Home Page

and none give me any delete word.

If I do that to the 2 Inactive Themes a Red Delete is on bottom right.

But not on the Active:Vantage one.

First click Dashboard > Appearance > Themes as if your were going to select a new theme, then hover and click “Theme Details”.

None of that makes much sense to what Lee is describing.

Are you in the Appearnace -> Themes section at https://www.ourcarebooks.com/wp-admin/ ?

    Hi James.

When I goto Appearance > Themes and hover, yes, I do het Theme Details.

However, clicking on that only brings me to these boxes at the bottom

    Customize/ Widgets/ Menus/ Premium Upgrade/ Theme Settings / Home Page

    There is nothing else except

    Current Theme
    VantageVersion: 1.1.2

    By SiteOrigin

Vantage is a flexible multipurpose theme. It’s strength lies in its tight integration with some powerful plugins like Page Builder for responsive page layouts, MetaSlider for big beautiful sliders and WooCommerce to help you sell online. Vantage is fully responsive and retina ready. Use it to start a business site, portfolio or online store.

Do you think SiteOrigin did something to prevent the Delete from showing? I was about to em him?

If I do that to the 2 Inactive Themes a Red Delete is on bottom right.

But not on the Active:Vantage one.

    You must first deactivate it.

“Customise Widgets Menues Premium Upgrade/ Theme Settings / Home Page”

It would appear the theme has modified the menu at Dashboard > Appearance.

Thanks Lee but I don’t see anything that says Deactivate.

    AT a Glace

    2 Pages

wp 4.3 running Vantage theme. And back around and around I go.

Could this be a wp prob/glitch and not allowing this to go away.

    on Pages

    There are 2 of them

Home Page – Front Page (created yesterday)

    Sample Page (which is wp)

Think I should delete Home Page-Front Page

    maybe that will help?

I don’t see anything that says Deactivate.

Use cPanel > File Manager to go to /wp-content/themes/ and then rename (or even delete after making a backup of) the folder for the theme you want to deactivate. At that point, WordPress should automatically fall back to Twenty Fifteen…and then you should be able to go back to the Dashboard and select a different theme.

    (@newbie357)

ok, thanks I will try that.

Could the person I downloaded the theme from have written code to prevent someone from deleting or wp from showing deactivate or delete?

I’m amazed these are prob’s. shrug
