I saw everyone’s post over years and this issue; however, there is No Delete button that I can see connected to the Theme.

There is a delete in plugins but not Themes.

Just started w/wp, where is the version to be more helpful.

    Thanks!

It’s always possible, yes. I’d recommend never getting a theme from that person again.

ok, thru cpanel > File Mgr

there is a “wp-content but nothing that says themes down the list.

    change that

I pasted in search and 2 came up

    /public_html/wp-content/themes/vantage.1.1.2

    /public_html/wp-content/themes/vantage.1.1.2/languages/vantage.pot

I’d recommend never getting a theme from that person again.

Agreed. Every once in a while I have encountered something like a plugin from a source where someone seems to believe it is okay to take over, and I dump that kind of thing immediately.

clicking on that did bring up a few themes and templates but I don’t feel secure in doing anything with this.

Is Vantage the only theme you have installed? If so, that’s why you can’t deactivate or delete it.

You cannot delete an active theme, and you cannot deactivate the only theme you have.

Yeah, I saw a good one on yt and didn’t notice that Vantage doesn’t really have much. That was just dumb luck. He recommended a lemon.

yes, it’s the only theme installed. seems like wp has a couple just sittin’ there. And those inactive ones Do have the Red Delete but not the installed one….which is nutz. o,O

So, install a new theme, like Twenty Fifteen.

    Then, activate the new theme.

Once the new theme is active instead of Vantage, you’ll be able to delete Vantage as we’ve been describing.

There must be wp support who can go into my acct and delete it???

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

No, your site is entirely self-contained. All we can do is tell you what to do, you need to follow those instructions yourself.

Right now, you’re trying to delete Vantage, but Vantage is your currently active theme. See why it makes sense as you why you can’t do that?

You need to activate any other theme, then you’ll be able to delete Vantage.

    (@newbie357)

ok, but what if they both collide and my laptop starts smoking? lol

so I’ll just activate one wp has there and see what happens.

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

Yes, activate any other theme, then delete the theme you want to delete.

    Yeah!!!!!!!

    Yes, that worked!
