  • Did you delete the WordPress tables from your MySQL database?

You will probably need to access the DB via MyPHPAdmin, or something similar, through your hosting account cPanel.

Thank you so very much Chip for the information. My husband and I are new to this so once again thank you. I checked my MySQL database and it seems to be reset. There is no evidence of wordpress being on there. I am looking for the actual pharse wordpress, am I correct in doing so?

Also We have been going through this since we tried to change our theme in the dashboard of wordpress. Once we clicked install I could nolonger access wordpress. I have had the account reset at hostjester, but it still shows this message when I try to reinstall wordpress: The installation can not be completed:

    – You cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain.

Click on the browser’s Back button to fix reported errors.

Most likely, you’ll need to look for tables starting with wp_, such as wp_posts, wp_options, etc.

I’m having the same problem… I’m a newbie too. I purchased my site at hostgator. WordPress is not showing as being installed… I thought I had all files deleted from my root directory (I’m not seeing any), I deleted databases in SQL… I haven’t done anything in myphpadmin because I couldn’t figure out what I was doing and didn’t want to screw things up worse. When I try to reinstall wordpress, it says “cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain. Click the browser’s back button to fix reported errors.”

There are no wp_ anything directories showing anywhere that I can see… Ugh!

I just fixed my problem! In my root directory, I also deleted the fantistico files (what I used to install WP). Once I did that, and double checked that all other WP stuff was no longer showing up, it let me install.

Gtoi – if you used fantistico, maybe you might find a similar fix (?)

It worked!!!!! thank you so very much once again. I am on my way. Good luck to you as well ??

how i delete my sql data??

Are you running fantastico or other 1 click installer script? If yes, you might need to check on the fantastico configuration file. Tell your hosting support and they should able to help you out by removing the status of the script installation on the root.

    Please post a new topic.
