• I am trying to help someone with their WordPress site. Unfortunately, they set it up with “Admin” as their main user. I set up another user with admin privileges, transferred all posts and pages to that new user with admin privileges but still can’t delete the original “Admin” user from the user page in the dashboard. How can I protect them from getting hacked via wp-admin using admin without being able to delete it?
    Please advise?

  • How exactly are you attempting to delete the Admin account, and what happens to prevent it?

Getting rid of a user named “Admin” will not prevent you from getting hacked. Putting a really good password on that account is what you should do.

To delete that account, log out and login on the new admin account you created. You can’t delete the account you’re logged in to.
