How to delete existing theme and upload new theme?

  • I have an ongoing problem with my existing theme, “Catch Evolution”; and, I have been told that the easiest way to cure it is to delete my existing catch evolution theme, activate a new theme, then, delete the new them and do a fresh re-instal of Catch Evolution.

    My problem is that I do not know the sequential steps I need to take in order to do this. I would appreciate it if someone, who does know what they’re doing, could give me “step by step” instructions on how to do the above.

    If this is on a live server you need to have access to your files through C-panel or something equivalent.

    I’d follow these steps.

    1. Change themes in your WP dashboard.
    2. Go to your C-panel and find the file manager
    • from here you will find the folder structure of your website
    • Click on the wp-content folder
    • Click on themes folder
    • Delete the folder containing your theme

      • To reinstall your theme you can just copy the new copy of the theme into the themes directory or go back to the WordPress dashboard and use the theme installer.
