    Hello, a webmaster screwed me and dissapeared and I don’t have any login info to access the google analytics. A new webmaster is helpig me now and told me to install a new analytics but first I will need to “delete the old code”? How can I do this please?

  • the ‘old code’ might be in header.php or footer.php of your currently active theme, or be added via a plugin.

    I looked at both files but not seeing a code which looks like what this link is suggesting?

    try to temporarily disable all plugins to see if that removes the tracking code;
    if yes, reactivate one plugin at a time to locate the plugin responsible for adding the tracking code.

    what theme are you using?

    can the new webmaster not support you with the issue?

    The new webmaster is charging me only for “consultation” so I will have to do most of the leg work myself but he said he will look at it later and did confirm the locations you mentioned, will let you know how it goes thanks.

    What’s the URL? Might be able to point you to the right file (footer.php / header.php / etc) or plugin.

    The webmaster found the code and took care of it, thanks!
