    Hi Team,

I have installed UpdraftPlus in my website https://www.hitbullshit.com
    Version 1.11.5

I have chosen NONE for “Choose your remote storage:” and so my backup is residing on webserver.
Currently the space used by backup is 920 GB.
“Web-server disk space in use by UpdraftPlus: 921.6 Mb”

I have downloaded the backups in my local computer and deleted the backup file from “Existing Backups” but the size is still showing as 921.6 Mb.

Kindly let me know how can i remove this size from the webserver. I have not enough space available with my hosting so this much space consumption can create problems.

    Thanks for all your efforts!!

    Hi,

If disk space is still in use, then either:
    1) These are temporary files that will get culled after 12 hours at the next time UpdraftPlus does a backup
    or
    2) There are untracked backups stored in there

For 1), you can log in via FTP to wp-content/updraft, and delete any temporary files you see there. For 2), press the “Rescan local directory” link in the ‘Existing Backups’ tab (though, using FTP to look at wp-content/updraft will also show them – that’s the directory its counting).

    Hi David,

    Thanks for the prompt response.

I have checked inside wp-content/updraft and found below files –
“backup_2015-08-23-1320_–uploads2.zip.tmp” and other 3 “.tmp” file all having size > 300 MB.

If i delete these .tmp files, can it affect my site in anyway.
Just being more cautious as i have never performed this operation.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Removing the .tmp files is harmless.
