Hello! Thank you for this theme, I like it! But, I see that the images on the main page, as well as images on page2, page2, page3…the featured images that are displayed on blog and archives are indexed in the search engines, but that’s not what I want. Is there a way how to make deindex them, or make them link to the actual blog post?
    Thanks!

[Update]…is there a chance or possibility to make those featured images link to the actual blog post? I see in search engines, the featured images lead to the page, not to the post.

    Hi there,

Thanks so much for using Gridbox.

This is not really a theme issue.

WordPress Core creates an attachment page for each uploaded image. These attachment images might get indexed, depending on the settings of your SEO plugin. Also, the images itself might get indexed and found in search engines. But this is also not anything you want to change within the theme, which is only responsible for design.

You can disable the attachment pages with this plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/disable-attachment-pages/

This should redirect visitors from search engines from the attachment pages to the actual post the image is used.

    Best,
    Thomas
