• I’ve started to host guest bloggers on my blog, had my first one yesterday. My Akismet spam filter is set so that she could only post 2 responses to comments without WP requiring me to moderate her comments. So I added her as a User for what I thought could be temporary – for the day. I assigned her the Contributor designation, gave her a password and user name (her real name, as she’s a writer and would want her writing name and website address to appear in the linking area at the top of every comment she posts a reply to).

That went fine and dandy. However, this morning, I went to delete her as a User thinking that her name and website would still remain on her comments. But WP wanted me to assign her posts and comments either to (1) another User or (2) delete them. If I assign her comments to myself, then wouldn’t MY user name etc. show up where hers used to in her comments? I don’t want that to happen. I want her info to stay there.

So I didn’t delete her as a User, I just changed the password to one she doesn’t know. However, I’m having another guest blogger next week and will be hosting anywhere from 1 – 4 guest bloggers a month, and if I make them all Users things will get pretty messy.

How can I handle this situation? Was Contributor the wrong designation to use? What designation should have I used? Or is there a way to temporarily change Akismet for the day so that my guest blogger can respond to her comments without me having to moderate every one after 2 go up?

    Thanks!
