How to delete woo-commerce categories

I understand you’re having trouble with deleting a category in your store. I’ll be happy to help.

Here are the steps to delete a category from your WooCommerce site:

1. Go to your WordPress Dashboard and click on ‘Products’.
2. From the drop-down menu, select ‘Categories’.
3. You’ll see a list of all your categories. Find the one you want to delete.
4. Hover your mouse over the category name, and you’ll see a few options appear beneath it. Click on ‘Delete’.
5. Confirm your choice in the pop-up window.

Please note that simply unchecking a category will not delete it, it will only remove it from a particular product.

Its not working. Also i have a follow up queries.

A) I Want to hide “out of stock” products. I checked the “Hide out of stock items from the catalog” box in settings,?but the products still show up
B) Can we hide the category (on the products page) called New-Products (there are two) this is there as a result of the POS system when new inventory is put into our Clover at the shop. When inventory gets sent to the website it doesn’t know what category it belongs to, so it puts it in there. This is messy because we don’t have any images yet for those products.

Its not working.

This is quite unusual. It is possible that a third-party plugin could be interfering with how the WooCommerce core plugin should behave. In that case, could you please temporarily deactivate all active plugin, only leaving WooCommerce as the active plugin to see if the issue persists.

Could try clearing your browser cache or making the changes using a different browser to see if the changes are visible.

It is possible to hide the category, however, I’d like to understand how you add the products to your store. Could you please share more details on the plugin or system used to add products to your store.
