• All of a sudden I am getting lots the erroneous messages from a blog page that I have set-up on my website https://www.riomediaservices.com “Taj’s Blog”

I am assuming most of it is spam. Some of the messages aren’t grammatically correct so they don’t really make any sense. Can someone take a look at that page and tell me what if anything that I should do to stop these messages. Or do I respond to them? I don’t know what they mean or what I should do.

I would appreciate any input or suggestions. I am relatively new to all this spam and blogging.

    Thank you,
    Marten

  • I looked and the comments that I saw all seemed to be OK, and on-topic so I wouldn’t be concerned with the bit that I saw. If you have any specific examples, please post the URL and I’ll have another look.

The best ways to pick SPAM are to look at the name, email address and content. If the content is off-topic, makes no sense or seems to be not-quite-right, then there’s an extremely good chance that it’s SPAM. I’ve also seen email addresses form people where their name is (as an example) Frank Black and their email address is [email protected] so that just stands out as a fake name/account.

If you’re really concerned you should look at something like Akismet and that will help out with SPAM comments.

Thank you for your expertise. I installed Akismet and all is good.
