First of all, I say a warm thank you. What an awesome supporting forum! It’s great how quick people are helping out here! As soon as I have more routine myself I will give back to other newbies, too.

    My latest question:
I have spun as my main theme. Part of my site is a blog that is built with a different theme on a sub-domain and linked directly from a spun-circle to that blog.

I want to have my “Home” on that blog be linked (back) to my main site (the spun theme). Is there a way to do this?

Is there a file with a link to change? Or do I have to change code elsewhere? And where? How?

    Thanks for your help!

    Sandy

  • Have you considered creating a custom menu.? That way, you can use the Custom Url option to create a link back to your main site.

? Thank you, Esmi. I found a solution by trying around with post-template.php:

Went to wp-includes and took the
    post-template.php of the other theme
    changing:

    [Code removed]

and got a double “Home” displayed with and without link. After removing the first Home and just leaving the ” it worked.

    YEAH! ??

No, no no! You should NEVER edit WordPress core files. Editing core scripts can bring down your entire site and/or open security holes for hackers to use. And there’s is simply no need for it when you are just trying to modify your theme’s menu.

I read your link and did not get what to do with the menue.

I had read the above in another wordpress-thread. There was no: no no no!

Okay, I am new. I am not a little pupil though!

Please delete this thread then with the “no no no”-solution.

    Thanks.

I ask you again: Please delete this thread. You are a moderator.

I wrote that I read it. Why shall I repeat that now?

I am into respectful togetherness even if someone is making a mistake! I do not need that kind of treatment – especially not coram publico.

It is not the general policy to delete forum posts. When a post is made and people contribute answers to an issue, that then becomes part of the community resource for others to benefit from. Deleting posts removes this added value.

You and me were the only two posting here.
You blamed me like a kid with “no no no” for making something wrong.

What value? I made a bad bad bad mistake according to your response.

What value is a solution that is non-conform with WP-rules?

Do what you want. I am out of this communication.
