If I choose List View as default view in Settings, then, List View is the only View that can appear when TEC is accessed directly.

Accessed directly meaning: links written as HTML reference in some other pages, accessing a page directly by pasting URL in the browser address bar, or even refreshing a View page that is not List View.

The link in “Link to the page you need help with:” is an example. I copy-pasted that link from Calendar View page. I also removed everything TEC related in /theme/mytheme to make sure, but we see it’s not opening Calendar but the List View instead.

I assume it’s a bug not a feature (that Views other than the Default View are meant to be accessed by JS only from this time forward), because why bother change the URL if it’s the case. So if it is a bug, my question would be: is there a temporary fix? The site depends quite heavily on direct links, to access parts of TEC.

    Thank you!

ps: Is there something wrong, or a wrong procedure on my side, to contact TEC support on the website? We bought a couple paid plugins, but I never got a response when sending queries to support. I asked about this particular problem 2 days ago, no response.

    Thank you again!

  • Hey @yofazza

First off, thank you for reaching out.

We are experiencing an unusually high volume of inquiries at the moment as a result of our recent major update release. A lot of people have questions!

There is nothing wrong with contacting premium support as a paid customer.
In fact, it’s the right thing to do to troubleshoot this deeper as we are limited in our ability to do that on public www.ads-software.com forums.

I will let you pursue the conversation there.
However, before I leave, if you haven’t done so already, please make sure you have read the following Knowledgebase article carefully.

    Best,

Hi @geoffbel thank you for the respond.

I understand that sometimes there are unusually high volumes (or other causes) that prevented the support team to respond in a timely manner.

Also thank you for the WP Engine page, I didn’t know it’s recommended not to cache those files. I’ll make sure to ask their support to add those files to the cache exclusion.

Their cache is indeed a bit aggressive so I often have that control panel page opened when doing development on their server. In this specific problem (and also standard procedure for me) I makes sure to clear specific cache, or all caches, both on me and their side, before deciding that I need to go to the next troubleshooting step.

    Thank you.

Hi @yofazza, apologies for the delay here. Please do keep us posted on how would you like to proceed. We do recommend this setup here in this article, to optimize The Events Calendar with WP Engine.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi @abzlevelup , I never got a response from Support at your site. I sent 2 messages.

TEC in our site is currently not upgraded. We’d like to make sure first if the “direct links will/can only open the Default View” is a feature, before doing changes to our customizations to make it work.

    Thank you.

Hi @yofazza, sorry to hear about this. We’re currently having a higher load in support. If you’re using the Free version of the Plugin this forum would be the right thread.

If I understand correctly, you wanted to have the List View as the default view. Yes, you could set the default view on your Events Page. See the article here to learn more.

Let me know if that helps.

    Hi @yofazza,

We haven’t heard from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved. Feel free to start a new thread if you have any more questions.
