Hi Pavlos, I do agree with you, just it’s not so easy to do as it’s browser dependent, eg android 4.4.4/firefox respects autoplay whereas chrome doesn’t.

I don’t want to get into browser/device detection as a solution to this as it’s prone to failing (ever changing detection params) or doing the wrong thing (browser changes it’s mind etc).

I’m trying to find another solution..

My best advice is to turn autolay off for now

Hi Simon, thanks for your prompt response. A possible solution may be that the player changes to playing mode only when streaming is detected.

Hi Pavlos, there’s a fix for this in version 2 which I’ve just put up.

When player detects touch/handheld device then autoplay doesn’t initialise upon page load, and players wait for a gesture. This is controlling the first autoplayng player on the page, once started up then any subsequent autoplays will function as normal.

Please let me know how it’s working for you.

Thank you very much for this fast response, it’s working like a charm! The only thing we lost is the theme font-family for mp3j players.

Thanks for posting back and pleased to hear it’s working.

Regarding the fonts – Have you been to the player ‘Design’ page and tried the font option called ‘Use theme font’?

hopefully this will do what you want. Let me know if it doesn’t!
