    Hi everyone,

I’m facing an issue with the WordPress editor where I can accidentally resize the editor window by dragging its corner, and I want to disable this feature. This happens in both the block editor and the classic editor, and it’s a bit distracting when working on content.

Has anyone figured out how to completely disable the drag-to-resize option in the WordPress editor? I’ve tried adjusting some settings in the theme and plugins, but I can’t seem to find a permanent solution.

If you have any tips or know of a plugin or custom code that can help, I’d really appreciate your help!

    Thanks in advance!

I can’t even see what you see there. It is also unclear to me how you can get such an option in the Classic Editor.

To analyze this in more detail, it would be interesting to see what you are working with. Which WordPress version are you using? Which theme is active? Have you deactivated all plugins as a test?

I have installed a fresh WordPress site using A2 Hosting. This is the first time I’ve encountered this type of option in the Classic Editor, and I’m also surprised by it.

I’ve checked almost all the settings but cannot find any option to disable this feature.

I am using WordPress version 6.7.1. I’ve tried disabling all plugins and switching to default themes (Twenty Twenty-Five and Twenty Twenty-Three), but the issue persists

Could you please also show a screenshot of your Classic Editor?

    Sorry..!!

I am using the classic editor, and everything is fine. However, when I switch to the block editor, I notice the “drag to resize” feature appears.

I would like to disable this feature in the block editor. Could you please provide a solution for this? I do not want the “drag to resize” functionality.

Ok, now I’m a little less confused. But I still can’t reproduce what you’re seeing. The editor looks like this for me:

    View post on imgur.com

In WordPress 6.7.1 and with TwentyTwentyThree as the theme (also with 2024 and 2025). No plugins are activated.

So I’m still wondering where this is coming from. Have you tried it with a different browser? Maybe an add-on of the browser is interfering with the view.

Also take a look at the view in the Playground: https://playground.wordpress.net/

I am also unable to reproduce this issue on my other sites, which are running WordPress 6.7.1 with different themes and plugins.

I recently discovered the ‘drag to resize’ option in my new installation.

Even after trying in incognito mode, the ‘drag to resize’ option still appears.

if you want, I will share my wp-login details in personal messages.
I have already messaged on Instagram, my id: chandu4ever

    I found it.

This feature was officially added with the release of WordPress 6.7 and cannot be disabled. You can read more about this at the following URLs:

    https://make.www.ads-software.com/core/2024/10/18/post-editor-iframing-with-meta-boxes-in-wordpress-6-7/

Additionally, you can see the GitHub commit that included this change at the following URL:

    https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/pull/64351

Per the above GitHub commit, there’s no way to disable this feature at the moment.
