How to disable Google Fonts?

    Hi Anders,

    in the changelog of the last update you write: “Added option to disable Google Fonts with a translateable string”. Could you please explain how exactly I can achieve this?

    And are still the Lato and Merriweather fonts used but loaded from my webspace or do you use system fonts instead?

    Hi @jonasschoen,

    You would need to add a plugin for translating the strings in the theme, like Loco Translate, find the string with the comment “Google Fonts: on or off”, and translate it to off.

    This will prevent the theme from loading the font files from Google Fonts. The site will still be displayed with Late and/or Merriweather if they are installed on the visitors computer, since the CSS still includes the Google Fonts in the font stacks. If they aren’t, system fonts are used as a replacement.
