How to disable 'open in new window'?

Love this plugin but I see support and updates are dwindling, yet it looks really good and does what it should.

I want to navigate within the widget’s frame, though, and every time I click a link inside the widget, it opens in a new window. The whole reason I wanted this plugin was because of its description: “Your visitors can like and share the Page without having to leave your site”, but that isn’t the case. Or, am I doing something wrong? I realize it is possible to ‘like’ and ‘share’ from within the widget, but I’d like to be able to navigate the page inside the frame. Is that possible?
