How can I disable the Sticky Add to Cart panel?

  • Hi,

    I’ve just installed a plugin to sell Gift Cards on my site.

    The problem I’m having is that it seems to conflict with the Sticky Add to Cart panel that drops down on my product pages.

    While there is a section to complete details for the gift card on the right hand side of the page, it won’t register anything has been filled out unless the details are entered into the Sticky Add to Cart panel instead.

    Is there any way I can disable the Sticky Add to Cart panel, so that customers don’t get the form fields twice and the plugin will recognise the details entered into the main screen?

    If I can’t disable it just for the gift card products, can I disable it for the entire site?

    I’ve looked at the Customizer section but there doesn’t seem to be any option to turn it off in the Retail theme.

    I tried using some CSS code to “hide” it, but that doesn’t solve the problem as it still interferes with the Gift Card plugin and won’t accept anything is filled out in the main screen form fields, so I need to disable it completely.

    I found a way to disable the data validation for the form fields, so hiding the Sticky Add to Cart panel is now working for me, even though it’s not ideal.

    Has setting the sticky add to cart panel to display: none allowed the gift card form fields to function correctly?

    Hi,

    Unfortunately no, I thought it would work but now I just get a blank gift card.

    So hiding the sticky add to cart panel isn’t stopping it from interfering with my gift card plugin.

    Can I disable it completely somehow, or have I wasted my money on a gift card plugin that I now can’t use?

    I thought there was an option to turn off the sticky add to cart, and upon checking it looks like there is the coding to do this, but somewhat embarassingly the customizer option to toggle this on or off was not included, so the option is not visible in the customizer.

    Sorry about that. I’ll get the theme updated to fix this and released asap.

    The updated version of the theme should now be available in your site dashboard.

    After updating to version 1.4.2 you will find the option to disable the sticky add-to-cart panel at ‘Appearance’ > ‘Customize’ > ‘Shop Options’ > ‘Disable Sticky Add-to-cart Panel’.

    Select this option and save, and the panel will be removed from your single product pages.
