Hello, I have enabled the option to show a single form with a URL. On the left I see the Give sidebar which I can disable if I want. However on the right I see the default WordPress sidebar for blog. I would like to disable this. How can I do it?

  • Hi @scudyscud

Can you please share us the link of your site that would be really helpfully.

I am currently developing the website so it’s closed to the public (Under construction mode)

The sidebar that I want to get rid of is the mail sidebar that shows on most blogs (categories, tags, calendar, archive etc).
The theme has a “Theme Options” section for pages and CPT to show or hide sidebars but this is not applicable to Give since the pages for the Give archive and Give single post (single form) are not showing in the pages list.

    Hey @scudyscud – Try this:

    1. Go to WP-Admin > Donations
    2. Click on Settings > Display Options > Post Types
    3. Disable the “Single Form Sidebar” option

I believe that should remove the sidebar you’re talking about.

Let me know if this helps!

Hello Devin, thanks for the answer. No, this is already deactivated.

The only way to make the main sidebar disappear is to create a wordpress page and add the Give Shortcode in it. That way I can control which widget areas are shown and where.
If I add a Give single form or a Give form archive directly to the menu, there is no way to control which widget areas and which sidebars are showing.

Hey @scudyscud – which theme are you using?

Hi @scudyscud — this sounds like a theme issue, specifically because of what you said here:

The theme has a “Theme Options” section for pages and CPT to show or hide sidebars but this is not applicable to Give since the pages for the Give archive and Give single post (single form) are not showing in the pages list.

If you ENABLE the Give Sidebar (I know you currently have it disabled), then go to “Appearance > Widgets” then you should see a sidebar area called “Give Sidebar”. If you add or remove widgets from there, then they should show up on your Give single pages. If they do NOT then this is 100% a theme issue and you should reach out to the theme author about that.

    Thanks!
