  • Hey Sam,
Thanks for getting in touch with us for help. It sounds like you might be using some additional code for a pop-up form from us. MailChimp only has one officially supported method of producing a pop up form on a site: By using our offered embedded form code while enabling the “evil popup mode” checkbox before copying the code over.

That’s generally retrieved by going within MailChimp to Lists > your list’s title > Signup forms > Embedded forms, then checking the evil popup mode box and then copying the code over into your site. Finding that code in your site and removing it would be the way to stop this popup from appearing again.

If the popup appears to be different from the popup added via our embedded code, it may be produced by a third party plugin of some kind rather than an official MailChimp-provided form. If you have any additional questions or would like more assistance hunting down the cause, please let us know. If you provide a link to your site, we can try taking a look for you!

I never used embedded form, I used Word Integration. Basically, I have 2 pop ups there, the one is from WP pop-up which I want to show and your mailchimp widget that shows in the footer.

Unfortunately, your mailchimp widget is also producing that pop-up which I don’t want to see. Please help.

    Hi Sam,

I definitely understand the concern here. Looking at your site, it appears that both of these popups could be generated by other wordpress plugins inserted into your site. As Gabe mentioned, the MailChimp plugin connected to this forum will not generate a popup.

Taking a quick look at your code, it appears that one of the popups is generated by AddSticky, which could be this plugin(https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/addsticky-popups-made-easy/) The other plugin could be this plugin(https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/jquery-colorbox/) I’m not 100% sure those are the plugins causing the popups, this is just a guess based on your sites code.

It might be best to check all installed plugins and your themes code to narrow down the cause of those popups. Another way to test is disabling all plugins, checking the site, then only enabling them one at at time until you narrow down the plugin causing the problem.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Those 2 plugins are not the caused of that extra pop-up window. Im now lost…….

    Hi Zifawebsolutions,

Unfortunately, it’s hard for us to narrow down on what’s causing those popups since we don’t have access to your site. Our plugin doesn’t have a function that would produce a popup. So there is something else on the site producing the popup. You might want to reach out to your web developer or someone familiar with wordpress for help with disabling the extra popup. Also disabling all plugins then enabling one at a time, like I mentioned earlier is a great way to troubleshoot.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
