    Hi @rfischmann,

Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to disable this.

I don’t understand why you don’t let the users enable/disable some features inside of Jetpack. That used to be the case a few years ago, we had total control over the plugin’s features — which is natural, as not everyone is interested in everything it offers.

“Taking over” a vital part of the WordPress editor (changing the featured image) like that, without the user even asking for it, and making us that don’t use any of those options have to click twice every time is quite a pain. I hope this is reconsidered.

    Hi there, @rfischmann,

We see where your feedback is coming from; we do still have the option to disable and enable features. What you pointed out as an option that can’t be changed is a setting within a feature – that’s a detail, and we hear you anyway.

I’d recommend to issue an enhancement request in GitHub, so our product team can see that and evaluate its priority for further implementation ??

    Hope that helps!

My opinion is that a multi-purpose plugin like Jetpack (as other big ones, like caching, WordPress/database optimization or SEO plugins) should always build features in a modular way, allowing users to enable or disable each of its features.

    Hey @rfischmann,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I agree that a plugin with modular features offers users a lot of flexibility. Jetpack does indeed aim to provide that kind of adaptability in a large capacity (not everywhere; we’re working on it). In fact, many features in Jetpack can be enabled or disabled individually to fit your specific needs.

Since this specific aspect you highlighted doesn’t have that level of modularity, we’d love your feedback via the GitHub issue I linked above. Your insights are valuable in helping us improve our products ??

    Hey @rfischmann,

That’s brilliant! Thanks a lot for helping us make our product a bit better every day ??
I recommend staying subscribed to the GH issue, so you’ll get a notification every time there’s movement over there.

If you have any further questions or need more help, you’re welcome to open another thread here. Cheers!
