how to display a post and its traduction on the same page

Hi all,

I am working on a multilingual website. It’s a language learning platform. I use WP 3.0 and WPML.
What I neither can figure out neither find an answer on forums is to display a post and its translation on the same page.

ie.
You have a post (using custom fields) on the theme “birth” and sub-themes of it as “year”, “place” etc. It has a translation in french, chinese, etc.

1. First of all, I am looking to display the translation of the post in one given language.
2. Next step will be to have a select field for each the source and target language.

Any suggestions or people who have encountered the same case ?
