The plugin suggested is for WordPressMU 2.7.1… Using WordPress (WP) 3.0.1 with multisite on, It was buggy and needs attended too. Perhaps ask the creatures of this plugin if they be willing to update it, after looking at the code, i don’t think it be a massive overhaul.

The authors would be shocked to hear that, seeing as I know they use it today on many 3.0 and 3.1 blogs without issues.

If you could report what’s actually wrong in a new post, and tag it, I’m sure they’d take a look, but odds are it’s a conflict with another problem.

It was buggy and needs attended too.

that’s not a lot to go on.

also, if you looked at the trac version of this plugin, you can see quite clearly it is being worked on with new features being rolled in on a regular basis.

Test it. Give feedback. Then the devs can release the latest version.

And given I’m the one who answers most of the questions about this plugin, 90% of the problems people experience is because they fail to set it up according to the direction, which go unread.

I’ll keep in mind next time I choose to write regarding any problems with a WP-plugin, to make notes if I discover any problems. Duly noted!

Testing on WP-3.0.4, the plugin works fine. I apologizes for saying otherwise up top. Now, with WP-3.1-RC2-17315 is another story… At the bottom of this post I’ll list the error’s that appear in my debug.txt.

I wish the authors would update the compatibility number, it was the entire reason why I took few moments prier day. I tend to give the rating system benefit when in doubt, and installed to check if the plugin would work with current versions…

Have I mentioned I’m new here? and my soul interest is to help out where I can…

    Cheers

    \wp-content\plugins\

That’s not where the plugin is supposed to be installed. Please read the docs. ??

Also! For the 3.1 RC, try the development version of the plugin, which can be reached from the plugins page. Find the trac link for it.

The WP’s I have installed only had/have \wp-content\plugins\. Oddly enough the plugin worked fine with WP-3.0.4 within \wp-content\plugins\.

If I happen to use this plugin in the future i’ll gladly take a peek into it’s development version.

    Cheers Andrea

you have to create the /mu-plugins/ folder. ?? and are you network activating the plugin?

heh, ah well… And yes, it was network activated.

If I create the /mu-plugins/ folder I dont see the plugin in the plugins page…

When I put the plugin in the /plugins/ folder I am able to network activate it and seems to work pretty fine with some exceptions: it generates multiple similar categories (for example I found 11 categoris “New York News” with slugs new-york-news-1, new-york-news-2 etc). Further more, the category in which the articles appear in the main website admin are wrong. Any idea?

If I create the /mu-plugins/ folder I dont see the plugin in the plugins page…

No, you won’t see it on the plugins page and the plugins will already be running.

If you put a plugin in mu-plugins it doesn’t show up in the normal Plugins list, it shows under Must Use.

When you look at your plugins, you should see at MOST…
    All (#) | Active (#) | Inactive (#) | Must-Use (#) | Drop-ins (#)

You may not have any drop ins ??

By putting a plugin in mu-plugins, it’s automagically network activated for everyone.
