How to display featured event image ?

You can edit the templates but the easiest way to format the way events are displayed is to go to Events > Settings > Formatting > Events and edit the placeholder tags used under Single Event Page.

The one you want to use is probably #_EVENTIMAGE.

More likely a thumbnail like #_EVENTIMAGE{100,100} for a 100px by 100px imaage
