How to display only 1 post at a time on blog homepage?

  • I only want to display a single post on the blog homepage at a time (the latest one), with the rest being accessible through the archives.

    Does anyone know how to do this?

    My posts are quite lengthy, so as it stands it’s making for some excessively long pages.

    I’ve looked everywhere in the control panel and also picked through the code but still can’t figure it out.

  • If you go into Admin and then to Options and Reading, change the number to 1 in Show at Most.

    I just start working on a photoblog project using WP.
    I am trying to display 1 post for my homepage, but I still get many.
    I have done what should be in Reading Options.
    I am using the Tan theme designed by Tally.

    Do you have any idea as to how to make it show only the last post in each category then?

    I’m having trouble making it do like i want it to.. ??
