How to display only one latest post with read more link

    Hello,

    I’m looking for the code to display the latest post on my page (just one post), and display an excerpt of the post limited by an x amount of characters. Also, I’d like to customize the read more link. For example so I can translate it to my own language.

    I tried several codes but until now I only found things to do partially of what I want. And I am not knowledgeable enough about PHP to make something of it myself.
