I am using the Twenty Ten theme, and by default it doesn’t display the post title on the posts page. It lists the entry content, and then some other attributes like comments, author, etc. To get around this issue of the post title not appearing, I have been repeating the title in the post content as an h2, but I’d really like to fix it. (My workaround is problematic because in some places, like email notifications, the post title ends up being displayed twice.)

From what I can find, this configuration is in the loop theme files. I’m hoping someone might be able to give me an example of what the section might look like after it’s been modified to include the post title. I have a site that is in production, so I am trying not to do this by a trial and error process.

    TIA

  • The problem is that you chose Aside as your post format. That is, go and edit one of your posts. Scroll down until you see the Format section on the right. Instead of Aside, select Standard and click the Update button. You should now see the post title appear above your post excerpts as a link.

CrouchingBruin, you rock! I’m slightly embarrassed about the oversight but relieved to know it’s a bit more straightforward than I thought.

I took the time this morning to read about the various post formats. I have been using standard in the various sites that are affiliated with this one so it’s a setting I never needed to toggle and clearly didn’t understand well.

    Enjoy your day!
