how to display the content of posts in popup ?

Hello.
There is an Elementar template of the single post type that outputs articles. How do I display it in a modal window with the modal-link class?I do this: I insert the template’s Elementar shortcode into the modal window, but instead of the content, popup just outputs the template, without data.
It feels like there should be a setting somewhere that the type of this popup is posts
