How to display theme demo in blog?

  • I haven’t been able to find an answer to my question, so I will try it out here. I’m building a portfolio theme for my WordPress install, and would like to display theme demos for potential employers.

    I’ve read vague “tutorials” on how to do this with subdomains and plugins, but I’m wondering if anyone could give me a simple and thorough explanation of how to do this.

    What I think I know so far:
    1) Upload demo themes into root directory of my portfolio theme.
    2) Download a plugin. (which one?)
    3) Add links, images to blog post.

    Am I on the right track? I haven’t ever done this before, and I just want to make sure I’m doing this in the most efficient manner.
