• I love the function of an “LJ-Cut” in LiveJournal and was wondering how I could do that in WordPress?

I originally thought it had to do with anchor tags but I don’t necessarily want the rest of the entry shown, only when someone clicks the link and then it shows the rest of it… (for example, for spoilers of tv/movies, etc.)

    Please help! Thanks!

  • There are two ways that I know of. You can either have your index show the_excerpt instead of the_content, or you can get the plugin Evermore, which truncates the post to the first paragraph, revealing the remainder of the post on the single.php page.

As you hover your mouse over those nifty little buttons on top of the editor, watch for the one that says it is “more”

Experiment with it. I think you’ll be pleased.

Or, a third way is to use the <!–more–> tag wherever you want the post to stop. That way is probably the easiest.

Edit: dang it. Too slow. :o)
